1Impact Analysis

Creating a branch of an element takes a copy of the original (including sub-elements, child diagrams and connectors) and links it back to the original.

This ‘branched’ element is now in your project area, and can be changed as you require:

  • Add new or changed values for EA fields
  • Add new, change or delete tagged values
  • Add new, change or delete connections to other elements

Branched elements have a status of ‘Branched’ (see Settings).

Impact Analysis

When you branch some elements, Portfolio Manager will run an impact assessment on each element. If this comes back with no impacts, then the element(s) will be branched. If any element in the list have an impact, then you will see the Impact Analysis page, and you can then decide whether to proceed.
